• Fetal:
• Increased perinatal morbidity and mortality.
• Shoulder dystocia.
• Erb's palsy.
• Fractures and other skeletal trauma.
• Birth asphyxia.
• Protracted labor and delayed second stage (increased birth canal injury).
• Maternal:
• Post-partum hemorrhage.
• Maternal lacerations requiring repair.
